Satoria Ray was born and raised in Greensboro, North Carolina. She moved to Charlotte in 2015 to pursue higher education at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. As a Spanish and International Public Relations double major, Satoria has used her collegiate career to further explore her interests in international affairs and language learning. In the spring of 2018, she spent a semester living and studying in northern Spain. When she wasn’t in class, she was teaching English to local elementary students or traveling around Europe.
Throughout her time at UNC Charlotte, Satoria has been very involved on campus. She has been an Orientation Counselor, UTOP Mentor, Niner Guide, and is currently the Vice President of UNCC College Democrats. She is also a member of the Communication Studies Honors Program and the National Society of Collegiate Scholars. When she isn’t taking classes, interning, or being active on campus, Satoria loves reading and binge watching Netflix. She also loves trying out different restaurants around Charlotte and spending time with her friends.
Satoria’s passion for international education coupled with her passion for being a global citizen is why she wanted to intern with the World Affairs Council of Charlotte. As a senior, Satoria hopes to take the skills she leanrs as an intern abroad with her for a gap year before attending law school. Satoria aspires not only to be a lawyer but an agent of change as well.
